Transform Your Bathroom with These IKEA Hacks

September 19, 2017 by Katie Jones Leave a Comment

One of the best things about IKEA products is that you can use their furniture pieces for more than just what they’re “made for”.  Here are some great ways to transform your bathroom using the always versatile pieces from IKEA.

Butcher Block Vanity

Make this great bathroom vanity by combining the BEKVAM kitchen cart and the TORNVIKEN countertop sink.  The shelves are perfect for adding some needed storage!  Idea from IKEA Hackers.

Toiletry Racks

Okay girls, who doesn’t need shelves to hold toiletry products and sprays?!  Sure, you can put it all in drawers, but it doesn’t take long before bottles tip and you end up with sticky messes.  I love how these IKEA BEKVAM spice racks were repurposed as shelves to keep your toiletry items organized!  See the idea here.

Corner Shelves

One of the best places in a bathroom for extra shelving is in the corners.  And with this IKEA hack, you’ll get exactly the amount of shelving you need for your bathroom.  Simply stack two or more of the LACK tables with wood glue to meet your storage needs.  Read more from Live From B5.

Side Shelving

If you prefer a built-in look for your shelves, these KALLAX shelving units are a great way to go.  You’ll get lots of additional storage and decorating space while also creating a more cozy feeling to your bathroom.  Photo Source.

Cozy Shower Curtains

I don’t know about you, but one of my least favorite parts of the morning routine is stepping out of the warm shower!  Add an extra element of warmth and comfort to your bathroom to get through those cold, winter mornings with this GURLI Throw shower curtain hack.  I feel warmer already!  Learn how to make your own from Lynne Knowlton.

Tub Front Panel

Little details can make such a dramatic difference when it comes to home decorating!  One way to make this kind of statement is to compliment your cottage- or farm-style home by adding some wood paneling to the front of your tub.  You’ll use IKEA’S GORM shelves to achieve the look.  Get the DIY here.

Spa Mat

Spa days are the best!  I don’t take them often but when I do, I’m always wishing I could spend more of my time at the spa.  But why can’t I?!  With easy hacks like this IKEA deck mat, regular spa days are just $35 and a couple of hours away!  Use RUNNEN floor decking to make your own.  Now… where’s the masseuse?

Hanging Shelves

FINTORP caddies can be used as hanging shelves for this IKEA bathroom hack.  You’ll get not only some additional storage space, but wall decor as well!  Can’t go wrong with twofers!  Read more here.

Stacked Glass Privacy Wall

I don’t care how comfortable you are with your roommates or partner, there are just times when you need privacy or alone time in the bathroom!  If this isn’t possible in your open layout bathroom, make it a reality by using stacking IKEA REKTANGEL vases to create a privacy wall.  Your sanity will thank you once you finally get a little peace and quiet!  Find the DIY here.

Shower Caddy Rack

Install IKEA’s GRUNDTAL kitchen rail and containers to provide a rack and storage solutions for your shower or bathing needs.  It’s as easy as installing a towel rack!  No more messes left out on the bathtub sides!  Source.

Floating Storage

I love this floating storage unit for industrial-styled bathrooms!  You’ll need to install some galvanized piping before adding IKEA’s LACK shelving to pull off the job.  Clean and simple but bold and practical!  Learn how to make your own from Simplified Building.
