Plants and greenery can be such a fun and sometimes festive way to add energy and life to your home. I didn’t always think so, having once believed they were more work than they’re worth. Luckily I started small though with just one plant. As I learned to love that little plant I decided it would be okay to add another and another. I don’t have too many (there’s a definite balance between letting greenery add warmth to your home versus living in the rainforest) but the plants I do own are happy parts of our decor. Here are 11 ways to decorate with plants ANYWHERE in your home!
1. Window Ledge
There is something really beautiful to me seeing small plants and herbs thriving in the natural light of the kitchen. It’s one of my favorite places to keep my plants. This leveled look is really warming. See the original idea and get the DIY tutorial for the shelf from A Beautiful Mess.
2. Corner Shelfs
Corner shelving can be a great way to add character to otherwise empty spaces. I especially like how corner shelving draws the eyes up and makes the room feel taller and more spacious. What a perfect place to add some greenery. Idea seen on StyleCaster.
3. Reading Nook
Liven up your reading nook with a table or floor plant near a natural light source. Source.
4. High Shelves
I really like the look of greenery on high shelving. It breaks up the relative “sameness” of all the other decor and gives the eye something new and interesting to look at. Faux plants can be good options for hard-to-reach shelves. Source.
5. Wall Gallery
I think this is such a fun and unexpected way to display greenery in the home. Why only put art and photos on the walls when you can also add some real life and energy to the room? Find idea from Domino.
It’s no secret that books are some of my best friends and an important part of my family’s lives. They are my treasures and treasures deserve treasure-worthy displays. I have found that some of my favorite bookend displays include small plants in clear jars that can be filled with stones or even seasonal decor. Source.
